I really enjoy dismantling BMWs. It's a straightforward and organised process for most parts, but the suspension adds a bit of complexity, making it a bit more challenging and interesting.
What steps do you typically follow when dismantling a vehicle?
When taking apart a car, I start by draining the oil to keep things tidy. Next, I deal with the exhaust system. Once that's done, I take off the doors and continue with the hoist to lift the car. From there, I dismantle the engine and other components. This step-by-step process makes for efficient dismantling.
Are there specific tools or techniques you find particularly helpful in overcoming dismantling challenges?
Having a well-organised set of specialised tools is key. The torx drive in my toolkit proves invaluable. Its compatibility with various fasteners and components adds versatility, making the dismantling process smoother and more efficient.

We prioritise the quality of used parts by implementing a thorough process. Before stripping the car, we conduct a diagnostic scan to identify and dispose of any faulty parts. After removal, each part undergoes a thorough quality check before being labelled and shelved. Prior to leaving our Parts Centre in Ellis St, Frankton, a final quality control check is performed to ensure that every part meets our high standards.
How do you balance the environmental aspects of dismantling with the demands of the automotive industry?
We strive to maintain an eco-friendly balance in dismantling by implementing responsible practices. This includes recycling oil, alloy steel, tyres and batteries, while car shells are directed to metal recyclers.
